One of the things I really love about Trump getting played by teens and K-pop fans at his rally is that they *easily* could have done a dive into at least a cross section of the data and figured out that it was bogus.
It would not have been *hard* to figure out.

The problem is that literally nobody had an incentive to do so.
The thing about having a boss who hates facts, and who says shit like, we keep finding more people if we keep testing! slow down the testing! is that it crosses over into lots of things.
Do you want to be the person who says, “Hey, boss, we *told* you there were a million sign ups, but we looked into it and actually that’s wrong?”
What the hell would you get for that? Fired, maybe.

Instead you just basically hope that *enough* of your data is not bogus that you can just lie and say “yeah, quick pan of the crowd and the overflow, that’s a million people, moving on.”
There is ZERO incentive for anyone on Trump’s team to perform even rudimentary fact-checking, if it means giving him bad news. NONE.
This is a *terrible* weakness to have in a President, but fucking yeah, use it to humiliate him and pull him down and make him look stupid.
And yo, there are, in fact, intelligent people on his team, but intelligence doesn’t get you to useful fact finding when your boss is emotionally abusive and resistant to facts. All your intelligence goes toward figuring out how to kiss up to his sycophantic ass.
What a terrible way to run a country. My god.

But fucking hilarious to see it backfire so publicly.
All that shit from people who were like, “don’t worry! There’s adults in the room!”

Those adults were *so* proud of their ability to “manage” Trump, and man were they fucking stupid. You can’t manage an abuser.
Wake up, adults in the room.

The way you adult in this situation is to get out and burn him down.
