I'm all for non-ARMYs acknowledging the boys' (and our) indisputable power and place in the cultural zeitgeist but I am already really weary of this whole "how can we use kpop stans??" thing that keeps cropping up.
1. Everyone keeps trying to replicate what ARMY does. You can't. What we choose to rally behind, *we choose.* We don't need (or want!) people courting us and trying to sell us something to support. Just don't even try it. Stop now.
2. There's something that feels low-key gross about even joking about a Korean band endorsing an American political candidate. Just once again, it's so western-centered. Take two seconds to learn the boys' history and you'll know how silly that is. Never gonna happen.
3. Basically, like, thanks for acknowledging that we're good at what we do, but please leave us alone unless you're going to be giving the boys the long overdue accolades you've kept from them because they're jUsT a BoYbAnD or something.
You know what while you're at it:
a. acknowledge the role POC fans have played not only in making stan twt what it is but also in mobilizing this movement
b. go listen to BTS and what they sing about, it's not an accident that we all ended up using our stan twt powers for good
