Short thread on what we need for next season
Assuming a standard 4-2-3-1 that can morph to 4-3-3.

GK

Leno is great as #1.
Martinez is not a great #2 but decent backup.
If Leno is out long term, will need a better #2 (like Ospina) who can play till Leno is back.

CB

Luiz, Sokratis, Mustafi and Mavropanos need to chucked out asap.
Mari can stay (not because he is good but because he didn't get time to prove).
One of Holding/Chambers to stay, sell the other.
Saliba will join us but still need 1 starting CB (have to spend).

FB

Tierney and Kolasinac are good.
Bellerin has lost pace and not great defensively.
But doubt we will get big money for him.
A better RB will cost a lot more.
So we will have to stick with him.
Need a backup RB - hopefully someone from youth team can step up?

CM

Torreira needs to stay fit and play regularly.
Xhaka needs to be sold.
Matteo is a good backup but not a starter.
Ceballos is not good enough.
Seriously lacking in this area.
Need a starter CM and a backup for Tor.
Maybe backup for Tor can come from youth team (AMN?).

AM

Pepe & Nelson on right wing.
Martinelli and Saka on left wing.
Not the greatest but lots of talent and promise.
#10 / #8 is a big problem.
Ozil and Mkhi out.
ESR is only option but only good as a backup.
Need a starter here.

FW

Auba as starter (get him signed up somehow)
Eddie as backup.
Sell Laca

Overall

Out - Luiz, Sokratis, Mustafi, Holding/Chambers, Mavropanos, Soares, Xhaka, Ozil, Mkhi

In - Starter CB, Starter CM, Starter AM, backup RB/DM (one of this should come from youth team)

Do I have any hope that it will happen? No.

We will be lucky if can get half of this done (both ins and outs).
