Anitwitter, need to make this clear- you always miss the mark on how the industry works. Always.
You think VOs should listen to you because you’ll make their performances better? Lol. The reason no one wants your critiques is because you have 0 clue how it works.

You can have your opinions. But don’t tag VOs and try to force professionals to listen. You know nothing. Cause if you did, you’d be in the director’s seat, not bitching on a keyboard over the internet.
And if you’re an “aspiring VO”, congrats, you just played yourself.

A critique is breaking down the technical aspect of something and critically dissecting it to make it better. To give that, the person giving the critique has to be knowledgeable in the topic.
If they’re not, they’re giving a generic opinion based on their personal tastes.

So no. It’s a fallacy that you “don’t have to be knowledgeable to give a critique”.
You CAN give your opinion, but if you don’t understand how things work, you’re not qualified to critique. End of story.

The “chef vs not a chef and food” is a weak argument. What tastes bad to you may taste good to someone else.
Your opinion isn’t based on knowledge. It’s based on personal preference.
Personal preference does not equal a critique.

And with VO - lets be transparent. Telling an actor their voice didn’t sound a certain way isn’t a critique. Comparing 3 lines of a scene to a later scene that has a more aggressive context and losing your shit proves you’re not qualified to offer critique.
You have an opinion.

Stop confusing the two. This isn’t a hard concept to grasp. Don’t be rude. Don’t have your entitled hissy fit and tag actors.
understand that directors are the ones who direct the VO. Even IF you have a good opinion, VOs aren’t going to magically be all “sorry Director, this internet rando says this is a better way to do it, I’m going to follow their advice. Make sure to give our client that memo.”
