DAY 4/30 - HOW TO HUSTLE!!!
Find what works and do it 10,000 times.
Most people talk about hustle but when I see what they're actually doing it's really underwhelming.
Quick chat on what hustle actually looks like for me.

So the question I get the most is some variation of this:
"How do build businesses and completely extract yourself from working on it day to day?
"How do build businesses and completely extract yourself from working on it day to day?
Because I like to simplify things to the extreme, these are the actual steps I take each time.
1) Have the business make enough money
2) Hire people and get out of their way
The hard part here is the first step of course. So that's what we'll focus on today.

The hard part here is the first step of course. So that's what we'll focus on today.
And because I’m not smart enough or have enough time to waste over-complicating anything in this life I think making enough money in business boils down to two steps as well:
1) Find what works to get customers
2) Do that thing Ten Thousand Times

Examples:
So when I realized that being a guest on podcasts led to increase sales for one of my products, guess what was the next step?
Creating spreadsheets like this and reaching out to 100's of podcasts per week:

When i realized that blog reviews let to more sales, instead of reaching out to 2 or 3, we turned up the volume and reached out to hundreds per week as well.
Huge jump in sales every single time.
Huge jump in sales every single time.
I could keep going but this would get boring fast.
Takeaway here is for each element of your business that GETS YOU CUSTOMERS you have to figure out the way to get your company out there at volume.

You just have to figure out the systems/people to get you there.
Does it mean hiring a VA to email 1,000 people for you one by one, so be it. Whatever it takes.
But the answer is working at volume.

Unfortunately from some of my conversations on here and on FB in general, a lot of folks don't full appreciate this part of the game.
Emailing two random bloggers a month isn't going to cut it peeps

If this type of thing doesn’t sound appealing, it’s really not.
It’s not fun.
And for some people, working at a more measured pace is a lot more doable, and that's fine!!!

But for me my goal was to work super hard like this for a year and get to the other side where I can now spend all day playing table tennis if I want to.
(And that's exactly what I do sometimes)
Legit before I even had a couch in my house I had my table tennis table.

Either way, if we’re not in this to live the life we see for ourselves then what are we even doing?
Whatever you see for your life is waiting on the other end of a year of madness!
And I do think it takes one solid year!

And this isn't some motivational b.s, if you're a new entrepreneur, chances are, you still have a full time job, you may be living paycheck to paycheck, you'll be in relationships that need crazy time, you may have health problems...life is pretty much organized chaos.
The people that win are the people that scrape and hustle and bloody up their knees, despite this crazy chaos.
Not the people that think business is going to be an extension of the basic comforts they enjoy.
Or that it will be fun! (Hate this)

And for folks with full time jobs:
I had one as well...my schedule used to look like this:
6:00 am: Wake up and work
8:00 am: Leave for work
12:00 pm: Work on my biz at lunch
5:30 pm: Go to a coffee shop and work
12:00am: Head home
Saturdays and Sundays: All day.

It got to the point that when I walked into the coffee shop @busboysandpoets, they would reach over and plug in my laptop instinctively.
And that's why I tip crazy amounts when I'm there. I literally built my company there and their staff looked out for me night after night.

ONE YEAR 'S WORK IN EXCHANGE FOR YOUR FREEDOM
So we're talking an almost insane, slightly obsessive hustle that you have to maintain for about a year.
It's very hard to get into this mindset of having to wake up and take risks every single day when things are comfortable as is

It's very hard to get into this mindset of having to wake up and take risks every single day when things are comfortable as is
But if you can will yourself into an uncomfortable space, good things quite often happen.
Oh and after a year of that insane hustle, I quit that job.
The image attached is the post I made on Facebook right after I quit what is hopefully the last non-hustle job I have.

Even now people ask me if I don't sleep.
I have plans and dreams and things that I still want to get out (looking at you https://getjasmin.com ).

And hopefully with this series, and group calls I do daily, and guides I put out and whatever else...
I can bring as many people as possible along with me.
Cause if you're only in it for self...

Hopefully this explains my mindset a bit and why folks that seek passive income first, or avoid discomfort, or ask questions like "what's the least amount of work I can put in" all get the Whitney Houston side eye from me....

Hustle peeps. The best you can.
Growth doesn't happen in comfortable spaces.

Comfort or Growth.
Choose one.

Ok that's it for today.
Promise these will get even more practical as we go but nothing can happen if we don't solve these mindset things first.
Catch you good peeps tomorrow!
Off to hit the strip.
