A year and a half ago, I read @karagoucher's book "Strong" and started keeping a confidence journal about running/skiing/exercise.
I just filled in the last page of the journal (don't worry, I have a new one!). I really think it has changed the way I see and value myself.

The idea is to write something short every day. This includes something specific so you will remember the day/workout when you read it again, and something - anything - that will be a source of confidence when you look back on it. Even on bad days... find that thing.
(I tried also keeping a confidence journal for my science job/career, but for reasons that I'm a bit afraid to probe, it just didn't click. Maybe I should try again sometime.)
Some random excerpts from my journal: Feb 20, 2019. "2x15' L3 classic [skiing] intervals Einsiedeln - hard to get the hang of it on changing terrain including downhills, but the second interval felt strong and relaxed and natural. Like I could race that way."
Sept 19, 2019: "10k run in the drizzle from UBC campus. The best thing I can say is that I ran in a new running skirt and that was really fun!"
Mar 10, 2020: "Mediocre day for willpower, but rallied at the end of the day and did core strength. Proud for not just skipping it."

July 27, 2020: "Woke up feeling terrible - not enough sleep, too much wine. But once I got running I realized I felt great! One of my best-feeling runs in a while."
Anyway... This exercise has truly made me more confident and at peace with myself. I recommend trying it out.
