The worst for me was the changes eskolo. 1st day of school ngahle ngathola a nick name. My teacher did not know where Amaswazi Primary School is. She said kusemaguswini. Okungamasalala kwahle kwavele kwathi nginguMaguswini guy. Imagine!

Teacher: Nooo it's not that rubbish you are singing but THE SINS I USED TO DO I DO THEM NO MORE!!!

I was trying hard to please Amanda. I had even bought her chocolate for sports day. After my moemish at hurdles I went over to give it to her. She looked at it and said 'Thanx Magu, that's sweet of you BUT ITS BAKING CHOCOLATE!

Emalokitshini I was good at drama. My report attested to that. My teacher asked me to prepare a one page speech ngamanzi. Speech and ispitshi are 2 different things depending on lapho ovela khona. I knew izipitshi and prepared accordingly. Vele edeni bathi ngiyabulala ngezpitshi!
What i prepared was far from a Speech. I stood up ngekhomfi coz this is my turf. There I was making a fool of myself 'Wena wahlala phezukwegalani yamanzi ahloba. Waginya ama ice wasuza umfefezo!' Teacher's expressions were classic. She expected a Speech and I gave her izipitshi
That day I felt like this guy from Gods must be crazy. I embraced my nickname. The expanse between the two worlds was just too vast. I wished heaven was close ngizihambele ngenyawo and hide my shame
I stopped participating in anything and focused on school work. I gave up my pursuit of Amanda even. With my funny accent, broken English and against all odds, Maguswini guy topped the class. Guess what, uAmanda wazibuyela yedwa next term
