The poor thing spent quite some time paddling up and down the river resisting appeals by the owners and others to move to the shallow riverbank under Victoria Avenue Bridge where Cambridgeshire Fire & Rescue Service were waiting both in and out of the water / ...
It was only with the assistance of friendly boaters who manoeuvred their vessels to block both ends of the river that they eventually were able to lasso the beast and pull her out / ...
There was a County Vet overseeing the whole operation for those who might be worried about the cow's welfare.
