I don’t think any Arsenal fan expect success overnight and it’s clear there is a HUGE rebuilding. There needs to be a bit of a roadmap because this will take 3-5 years. The objective is simply to get into the Europa this year and even that looks difficult now.

For me, there’s 5 areas the club have to get right:

- coaching / improving of players

- developing young players

- recruitment - doing it well and smartly

- looking after contracts - we talk a good game but need to deliver.

- work on revenue streams (commercial)

Those area’s are covered by the exec team & head coach. Raul, Edu, Vinai, Per & Mikel & co have a big job on their hands. They need time - but can’t afford many mistakes. Financially any player we bring in who doesn’t work out is a costly error. Luiz, even Pepe (Jury is out) etc

For now, there isn’t much fans can do, we’re not in the ground. It’s on Mikel / players shoulders. They need to find a way of pulling off results. After that, we see where we are and the other areas come into play - contracts, recruitment (not necessary spending it being smart)

Once the season is over, you look where you are and set release of objectives but the club have been clear on roles and responsibilities- so if results don’t go our way, it’s not necessary Mikel isn’t doing a good job, it could be the some of the other factors.

The cups offer a bit of rest bite and that’s what kept Arsene going - even under him, there would have been a 3-5 rebuilding job to compete for titles but we didn’t quite do it but the cups keep you going - it’s a different type of success.

For now, my expectations are very low, & I feel sorry for Mikel because there’s so much to sort (defence, Auba contract, even Saka) then he has to develop, improve - not easy. The injuries don’t help either! Players need to want it - from what I saw today, I’m not sure some do.

They need to be reminded they are playing for Arsenal football club. It’s an honour to play for the shirt. The current climate makes it difficult as value isn’t there on players but players that don’t want to be here, should be allowed to go. I want hungry players under Mikel.

One of the major issues that face Arsenal is even young players now expect a decent wage. If you are Man City or liverpool - you can say to a young player, earn your worth (& risk losing them) but at Arsenal, we can’t. We need players like Saka & are forced to give a big wage
