There are a lot of really heartbreaking stories of people in wrestling being sexually assaulted, harassed, and groomed. I want to highlight some additional forms of sexual abuse in wrestling that are, in my experience, very common: 1/7

1. Promoters, bookers, producers, and more powerful wrestlers forcing/pressuring others into sexual performances or into otherwise being portrayed in ways they are not comfortable with. 2/7
2. Commentators, ring announcers, journalists, fans, etc., making unwanted comments about a performer's body, personal life, or sexuality. 3/7
3. Performers forcing sexual contact on others in-ring and in front of a live audience, when confronting the abuser would require breaking character and interrupting the show (and probably never being booked again). 4/7
4. Fans and people in the business making false claims or repeating rumors about people's private lives or sexual activity. 5/7
If you see a performer being pressured into something they aren't comfortable with, stand behind them! Help them fight back!
If you see or hear someone making comments about another person's body or sexuality, call them out!

If a wrestler on your show makes unwanted sexual contact with a fan or another performer, fire them!
If you hear claims or rumors about someone's private life, shut them down! Don't repeat them! Tell people to stop!
We can all play a part in making wrestling safer.
