Did you know that Texans Darren Fells finished as the TE15 in half ppr in 2019 and can be found outside the top 41 dynasty ADP TE’S as of June?

Yes. TE 15.

Let's take a quick look at the Houston tight ends situation.

@MyFantasyLeague
Looking at personnel grouping frequency we can see that Houston ranked 14th in 11 personnel and interestingly 3rd in 12 personnel groupings behind only Minnesota and Philadelphia in that regard
The snap counts in 2019 were almost divided equally between Akins and Fells only adding to the possible confusion here. Of note, Akins played the slot 17.4% of the time while Fells was tasked to so only 9.6% of the time
Further adding to the confusion is Kahale Warring who’s also intriguing, as he showed decent athleticism and was selected in the 3rd in 2019. He missed all of 2019 with a hamstring injury and has the current highest Houston ADP which sits at TE40 for June
The TE landscape in Houston is still interesting to me. Like I mentioned earlier, Fells finished as the TE15. Jordan Akins finished as the TE 25 in 2019. Only ONE other team had two tight ends finish in the top 25 and that was Philly with Ertz and Goedert.
Houston saw the departure of Hopkins and his 150 targets. They did however add Cooks as his replacement but I do see that as an increased target opportunity for the TE group as a whole without knowing if Fuller will stay healthy or not.
The TE situation is worth keeping an eye on in 2020. If one of Warring, Fells or Akins can truly establish himself as the go to guy, he will be very fantasy relevant with a chance of finishing inside the top 15 in 2020 and easily crushing their current ADP.
