We win by focusing on their tactics instead of on their alleged arguments, which they have no loyalty to and discard as soon as they are no longer of use.
They've been trained how to argue, in a sense, but completely unprepared to defend their antics--which many dont realize they're even engaged in, simply modeling the behavior demanded of them.
This is why they so frantically retreat to attacking Trump, who they correctly view as often indefensible. If it's not even about Trump they have no idea where to go and stay there anyway, as @neontaster pointed out. I
It's akin to arguing with a boomercon from the right. They're defenseless and confused as to how to reconcile the interaction they are in, which in their worldview is close to literally impossible.
The Schrodingers cat perspective on whether crowds are deadly and spread coronavirus aren't even the most recent example.
The meltdowns over Trump's campaign using a red triangle in an ad didn't have time to reach full froth before the meltdowns over Trump's meme with two babies.

In 1993 Bill Clinton swept into power after 12 years of Republican presidents. We were told that this was a new era in American politics.
Despite big majorities in both houses and many other tools he got his ass handed to him immediately on his first two projects, gays in the military and the stimulus bill.
I don't agree with the premise that a President Biden in 2021 would be in a better position than Obama at any point or Clinton was. Neither reigned while the Cathedral was under sustained, full-scale--and escalating--attack
(Yes #ackshully there are some advantages Biden would have over those two. Thank you midwits. "Better position" does not mean or imply "better in every sense")
If you think saving America is a function of having Trump be president, I dont think that's a tenable position. At the very least he's gone in four years anyway.
If you think as I do that America's salvation is a function of current trends continuing or not, then yes it's reason to be extraordinarily optimistic.
