I’m a huge fan of world-building, and Spider-Man: Homecoming is one of the movies i think do it best!

Here’s a list of all the nods in the movie to the wider universe you may have missed because i need to take my mind off of my haircut.

1. Battle of NY by Liz Toomes
2. Stark Tower is still in bad shape after the Battle of NY, with the letter “A” the only letter still up!
3. Toomes’ crew are working on the Chitauri Leviathan that Thor and Hulk crashed into Central Station, aswell as some Chitauri gliders!
4. On the way to the Stark airstrip, Peter and Happy pass the Stark World Expo in Queens from Iron Man 2.
5. Peter and Happy arrive at the same Stark airstrip from Iron Man 1!
6. Howard Stark can be seen on a mural of scientists at Peter’s school.
7. Bruce Banner can be identified as one of history’s greatest scientists by Peter’s teacher
8. Peter mentions to the bank thiefs he hadnt met Thor or Hulk yet, due to them being off-world during Civil War.
9. Dum-E makes a reappearance from Iron Man 3, helping pack Tony’s things for the big move!
10. Cap’s costume in Rappin’ with Cap suggest he filmed these between Avengers and Winter Soldier, at the peak of his boy-scout attitude.

Burress also mentions Steve had been branded a war criminal by the US goverment 😨
11. Shocker is trying to sell Davis a weapon built from a Sub-Ultron arm. He also mentions Chitauri rail-guns and Black Hole grenades from the Dark Elves!

His weapon is made from Crossbones’ gauntlet that the Tinkerer salvaged from the Lagos battle in Civil War.

MJ mentions she’s skeptical if Cap was really fighting to “save us from tyranny”, or if its all just a cover-up.

16. Iron Man’s suit here is just an updated version of his Civil War armour, as he was too busy designing and creating nano-bots to build a new one.

17. Peter’s principal is the grandson of Jim Morita, one of the Howling Commandos. They’re played by he same actor, too!
18. Happy mentions Tony’s old Hulkbuster armour being sent to Avengers headquarters (setting up its IW appearance), a prototype for a new shield for Cap, and “Thor’s magic belt”.

This is the Megingjord, a belt from the comics that increased Thor’s strength.

20. Tony plans on giving Peter the Iron Spider suit, and then revealing his identity to the press just as he did in Civil War.

He also mentions his room is Wanda’s old one next to Vision, who “isnt big on walls”, as we saw in Civil War!

Tony working for the Accords seemed to fixed their relationship as he hoped, so at least something good came outta Civil War!
22. Speaking of Vision, we see a Quinjet taking off from Avengers HQ as Peter arrives.

Possibly Vision leaving for one of his secret rendezvous with Wanda...👀
23. The credits scene shows Vulture meeting Scorpion in prison, who blames Spider-Man for his severe injuries; setting up his possible quest for revenge after escaping prison in Spidey 3...
