Threads are tryhard but what the hell

Look I really don’t know what to say to the conservatives who lectured at us about “structural racism,” defended the “peaceful protesters,” and began their mealy-mouthed spiels with “look we all agree there is a pattern of police brutality”
... but now are *shocked!* *appalled!* *cant believe!* *it’s really beyind parody* that they’re tearing down statues of Washington, Jefferson, Grant ...

Now those conservatives want to commiserate together & condemn the mobs
Events don’t just happen when “people have had enough” of something. “Groundswell movements” are propaganda.

Ideology pushes action.
Interest nurtures ideology.
Personality shapes & directs interest.
Through a disastrous mix of idiocy, incompetence, and bad intentions, mainstream conservatives bent the knee; then bought into; then reinforced extremely dangerous ideology.

They failed to question the interests & personalities behind the ideology.
Any concession — be it a rhetorical concession to an buddy, a structural concession to violence, a formal concession on policy — is a concession to the radical ideology that benefits a few extremely powerful interests.

*Do not make concessions to empty slogans. You idiots*
Hint: no one is seriously trying to determine whether a specific dude who lived centuries ago was secretly a bad guy
Status quo economics are of course one blatant instance of ideology undergirded by interest.

But that is not the only vector & pointing to manufacturing job numbers whenever someone loots a store or steals a policeman’s taser is weak. Missing the big picture.
Why can’t people see what’s going on?

Because this entire country is wrapped in hundreds of layers of psychological delusion — the ultimate first world problem.

I haven’t seen a distilled framing or analysis... It’s about wealth. It’s about religion. It’s definitely about sex.
But I digress. All I can say is

1. It’s really an architectural feat the number of mottes and baileys the accepted intellectuals of the right have constructed to justify various insane positions, and how they overlap... something for @GrrrGraphics to explore I guess...
2. I apologize for all the Gen X ellipses in this thread & repent
&
3. To all the (performatively) outraged conservatives who’ve spent years eye-rolling at substantive rightwing points, who think they’ve been “using the rhetoric of the Left against the Left” (lmao), and who now screech “HOW COULD THIS HAPPEN?!”

It’s your own ideology, morons.
