Great, now let’s apply this logic to abortion https://twitter.com/CillizzaCNN/status/1274159393148473344
Turns out people are actually highly capable of realizing that the “right to choose” should be limited when it involves infringing on other’s rights. They just don’t want to do it when it comes to abortion because being lazily “pro-choice” is easier.
The question in abortion isn’t whether a woman has the “right to choose.” No serious person defends theft, spousal abuse, or fraud on the grounds of some nebulous “right to choose.” The question is: the right to choose *what*?
This isn’t just an idle complaint about word choice. This is a fundamental problem with our public debates over abortion. Some of us argue it’s unjust killing, and far too many on the other side totally ignore that argument in favor of defending the “right to choose.”
