Firstly Im presuming this is about max. What max said isn’t ok. The way in which they said the word was disgusting. Max rightly was called out and the apology wasn’t great. I’ve also interacted with max maybe four/five times so I don’t know everything that goes on
The way in which the situation was handled wasn’t right either. The excuse of “I was a kid” isn’t good enough as these conversations around language and rhetoric were already being had at the time. Max should be held accountable. They need to reflect on the vocab they use
The way in which they acted like nothing happened a few hours after and the defensiveness wasn’t ok. I’ve also not interacted with them since Thursday so like I don’t know what you want from me? When the conversation should be steered towards the use of slurs
Above all else whats pissing me off is that these words are still being used and now bc max used that word its being used as a way to discredit the whole fucking conversation of what happened w/Luca. How about u keep that same energy to educate people on why these words arent ok
I have no problem calling it out. These words aren’t ok and are a symbol of hate and oppression faced by so many so how about instead of trying to call me out for something (that I have proof of) that I was going to add to we talk about how these words shouldn’t be used full stop
Don’t get why you have a problem with me talking about why saying slurs is bad and not cancel culture but ok xx
Also my thread from Thursday was for all people in general and a full conversation that needs to be had with everyone. Everything that I said about Luca and the general population in the og thread applies to how I feel about max and literally every other person that uses slurs
