Tonight I learned what it really means to be a mod in a twitch community. It honestly is not easy to be a mod for a community that you love and care for just as much as your own community. I would do anything to have been a little faster tonight and spared a few more people.
Please know that if you are taking up a position as a moderator for a community that you are going to see some very potentially triggering things and you need to be able to act fast despite what is in front of your face. It’s not an easy job, I am exhausted and I feel so defeated
I have a lot of feelings wrapped up so tightly I feel numb to most of it. I’m struggling from what happened tonight. And that’s okay to struggle, but I want to just advise anyone who’s modding at how rough it truly can be. There is so much love for all our mod teams on twitch.
