I am disappointed that some of you keep inviting and honouring the people involved in the LUMS Sexual Harassment case in 2014.

I am going to assume some of you are not aware so let me list down all the actors so you don't have that excuse next time.
Abid Hussain Imam, son of Abida Hussain and Fakhar Imam, was accused of sexually assaulting a student. The LUMS DC committee exonerated him but the federal ombudsman found him guilty.

The judgment also revealed how the VC, Sohail Naqvi, told him that LUMS will stand by him.
Because of the political influence of Abid Hussain nobody was speaking out against him.

Instead of standing up for the student, even the wokest LUMS professors stayed silent.

Anybody who was in the LUMS Law Department can testify to how incestuous and problematic it was.
Dr. Osama Siddique, whose articles you all share gleefully, the then Head of Department, wrote a public post defending Abid Hussain Imam and claiming the girl had mental health issues, that he was made privy to looking t her personal file.

This is the Head of the Department.
Who himself has been guilty of misconduct in the past. Instead of supporting the victim, he tried painting a teenager as being crazy publicly. How this man continues to have a job is beyond me.

We cannot change the entire system but at the very least all you need to be aware.
Waqas Mir was the lawyer for Abid Hussain Imam, he not only defended him but also wrote a blog post against me for calling Abid Hussain Imam out.

Imagine being a student taking your university, all your professors and your department on? Least I could do was support her.
Instead of supporting her, most of the professors at LUMS, including Saad Rasool, Osama Siddique, Maryam Khan and Osama Siddique, wrote a public letter defending Abid Hussain Imam.

Rafay Alam is the only one to have the dignity to acknowledge that signing that was a mistake.
So next time you are inviting this lot, sharing their posts, remember how they all ganged up to vilify a student. Any hopes of me ever finding a job as a lawyer in Lahore were dashed simply for supporting her.

Mad props to @shmyla for fighting for the right cause during this!
