And i was working in the industry at the time so I saw it first hand. Especially in the child industry, the only time you'd see castings asking specifically for dark skinned characters was for African charity or slave roles
The way agents wouldn't look at a black child twice unless they were literally STUNNING, yet they would take almost ANY mixed race child, and put them up for auditions for BLACK roles. The erasure and casual disregard of non mixed black people was absolutely disgusting
And the fetishization of mixed race children was equally as disgusting. And it wasn't just the agents. Many of the parents were HORRIFIC
