Have no advice for my graduating students except that I'd request you to not hunt for moral + emotional fulfilment in whatever you do to pay your bills. Great if it works out that way, but for many it might not & that's okay too. Find meaning elsewhere (relations, voluntary acts)
Learnt this the hard way after I graduated exactly 11 years ago. If you're even moderately self-reflective + critical, you can get disillusioned with most standard occupational choices (because all of them are pointless and compromised to an extent).
So regardless of what you think society values 'more', it's okay to pursue things for ostensibly selfish reasons like intellectual interest, certainty, and material aspiration. (nb: worst reason for doing something would be to please someone else: parents/potential in-laws).
And this matters a lot given the unprecedented magnitude of uncertainty 2020 grads are facing. So don't be too hard on yourself; recalibrate expectations from yourself and the world. It will hopefully work out.
