For instance, in @mybmcWardL, which has huge slum pockets like Qureshi Nagar, Kasaiwada, #BMC officials say they marked out large clusters #geographically and until everyone was screened within it, no one will be allowed to leave a cluster.
In #Goregaon, corporator @PillaiSrikala whose corporaor ward consists largely of slums like Bhagat Singh Nagar 1 & 2, Laxmi Nagar, Indira Nagar says that these areas had reported 150 covid-19 cases so far.
"We started screening everyone in the slums, isolated suspected cases.”
@DighavkarKiran, assistantmunicipal commissioner for #Dharavi area said that strict enforcement of containment zones definitely helped. "In slums sealing up of areas was stringent. Also high risk contacts were quarantined as they have limitations n could not be home quarantined
In @mybmcwardKW Andheri's Nehru Nagar slum too the dip in cases was evident, said officials as on May 27 the number of cases stood at 60 while as on June 11 were 67. Officials in the area have decided to replicate a similar model in high rises too by screening everyone.
