Are you conscious about the way you reply to strangers on #Twitter ? Sometimes a person maybe reaching out for an answer because he/she could seriously be needing help. It maybe an anon account but the question,100 percent genuine. It could happen, right? -(1/7)
It wasn’t long when I had joined Twitter in 2017, that I came across a handle with sensitive, emotional tweets. She was a young mom who penned down mostly about her feelings, lunch, plants and son. We interacted and followed one other. -(2/7)
Somewhere in between she stopped tweeting. Life moved on till she sent out a question. She had gotten emotionally involved with a man on Twitter and he was not making things easy for her. She wanted an answer. She needed help. -(3/7)
She got trolled by many. I replied to her tweet too. Honestly, I don’t remember what I wrote. When I searched her handle a couple of days later, she had deleted her account. Many months later, I received a message from another handle. It was her. She thanked me... (4/7)
...for the advice I had given. She said she paid heed to what I wrote.She said she would never come back on Twitter. “...I was lost. You helped me see what I couldn’t see. Life is good now. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.” she wrote. That’s it. No interaction thereafter. -(5/7)
She crosses my mind till today. I don’t know what I wrote that showed her a way but I know she’s ok.

This long thread is not about broadcasting my goodness. No! Not at all.The incident only made me realise that our words matter. Someone somewhere could be counting on us. -(6/7)
This maybe a virtual medium but there is a heart beating behind every account. It doesn’t matter if they hv 1 follower or 5 lakh. If you see someone asking for help, show empathy. Listen to what they’re asking. Answer them. Be kind. You matter. Your voice matters. -(7/7)
