In 2016, during a tough time with my own disabilities, through a dear friend my great hero @lxznr sent me the gorgeous card below. The wonderful, personal message inside made me cry & inspired me in equal measures & still does every time I read it, which is most days.

Largely due to that message, I found the confidence and voice to believe in a project that was very dear to my heart. In 2018 I pitched and produced a Disability in Motorsport supplement with Autosport Magazine. A project I am immensely proud of on so many levels.
Alex not only inspired the suppo, but featured in it too, with a brilliant piece about his DTM return. As part of the whole process, I had the huge honour of briefly chatting with him on the phone, thanking him for the card & for inspiring me to do the Disability Supplement.
In typical fashion he once again made me cry, by thanking me for doing such an important and special project. I will genuinely carry those precious words with me forever, and yes my eyes are leaking again now.
Tonight I'm sending Alex Zanardi every bit of love, hope, prayer & everything else there is imploring you to join me with whatever you believe in too. The world needs you @lxznr & selfishly I want to hug you as proper thanks for being my hero.
Keep fighting Alex, we love you
