Since the pandemic was declared in mid-March I have been exclusively at work at @HBKidsHospital and at home. Lucky to have a husband to buy groceries. Bubbled with him and my 3 kids. Went nowhere else. Today I decided the time had come and went to a grocery store.
I wore a mask and gloves. Was shocked by how many people shopping at the store were not wearing masks. Being used to seeing people in masks all day at work I was shocked by how vulnerable it made me feel.
I work with kids who can’t afford to get sick. More and more of our province is opening including close suburbs to Toronto. Folks please be sensible. Wear masks. Wash hands. Don’t touch your face. This isn’t politics it’s being smart.
I asked the store manager whether people were required to wear masks and he said they couldn’t make anyone unless it was the law and I should understand it’s not the law so nothing they can do.
