*taps mic* is this thing on? Georgia is trying to pass a hate crime bill in the middle of up driving, on Juneteenth, that would PROTECT police. Let’s walk through why this is not simply a problem, but is fundamentally the work of dishonest actors who do not care about the people.

Members of the legislature are not thinking about what is in the best interest of the state but adhering to the rhetoric of GOV Kemp to “back the blue.” Police are not a protected class. They are not under attack. If someone were to harm a police officer justice would be swift.

That is not the case for people who are generally protected by hate crime laws. These people are trying to protect their comfort and way of life. They are gutting benefits to the public and passing nonsense like this.

APD just murdered a man. Glynn County Police along with two DAs covered up the murder of another man. There are countless others in between who have been harmed, targeted and harassed. This doesn’t benefit anyone but a national apparatus built on hate and disinformation.

These are all objective facts to be pointed to and journalist locally and nationally need to do their job and stop hand holding elected officials who work against the people’s interest.
