Hanover College makes it sound like they’ve been trying their best when in actuality the leadership and administration has been a big part of the problem. The racist culture doesn’t just exist. You create it.
YOU post pictures of black students on recruitment aids without their permission to try and pretend the school is more diverse. YOU use these unsubstantiated claims to lure in black athletes.
YOU try to increase diversity to save face while you do nothing to actually help black students when they get to campus. Instead of finding a welcoming environment, what do they find out? That the Klan holds rallies ten minutes away. Put that in your ads.
And most importantly, the work being done to help black students on campus is being done BY black students. Hanover cites the BSU and other student orgs as the administration’s accomplishments, taking credit for the progress that has only been achieved because of black students.
