What would you need to know or understand in order to consider changing your mind?

This is a question that puts the responsibility back on those who resist antiracist curriculum/instruction.

EX: T refuses to give up teaching TKAM. Ask. See what the answer is. #DisruptTexts
Follow-up: What research have you done to find that information and other points-of-view?

Then, assuming they’ve done their due diligence, ask:

And in making your decision, whose perspective are you centering?

In other words, what/who have you decided is most important?
Here’s the thing. My goal here isn’t so much to change their mind (though it would be nice!).

My goal is to have the other person sit back and really reflect hard on their rationale and to have to say out loud what’s holding them back.
Even if they don’t change their mind, I want Ts to be honest about what/who they are prioritizing.

And to own that.

Maybe they won’t like the answer, or maybe they’re fine with it. But at least it’s out there. No more coded language.
