Being a young player in the NHL I did not think of the significance of this picture at that time. CNN came to interview us during Black History Month on playing in the NHL and having 5 black players on the Atlanta team. At the time we gave the generic 'pucks in deep' interview 1/

But this was a historic season and amazing feat, and the last season in Atlanta. I wish I could go back in time and explain how amazing this accomplishment was now that I have time to reflect. I wish I could of done more appearances at schools to help grow the game in the city.

But I vow to use my platform and resources to grow this great game and do my best to afford everyone the opportunity to play. Everyone should have the opportunity to play hockey regardless of their Race, Gender, sexual preference or Socioeconomic backround. #HockeyIsForEveryone
