Well let's see. Assuming he grows into the average white man, if he's a high school drop-out, he will make more money than a black college grad. If he has a BA, he'll make more than a black person with a graduate degree. His white baby is 2x as likely to survive as a black infant https://twitter.com/MattWalshBlog/status/1273959513184501760
If he were a she, she would be 2.5x more likely to survive childbirth than a black woman -- and if he were a she with only a high school degree, her baby would STILL be more likely to survive than the baby of a black woman with a graduate degree.
Mortgage lenders will extend him much better deals. If he was making $30,000 a year before the housing crisis, he would STILL have been less likely to have been offered a subprime loan than a black or Hispanic family bringing in $200,000.
For every $1 he makes, a black woman of the same age and education level working the same job in the same industry will make 80 cents.
Of course class matters. Of course opportunity matters, and plenty of white people see their opportunities curtailed, too. Lucky for this hypothetical white child, African American voters overwhelmingly support policies that would make his life better.
But also, race operates in specific and distinct ways that curtail the health, wealth, well-being, and very right to life of African Americans. Economic gaps don't tell the whole story, which you see when you break out the data.

*This should be "half as likely to die," not twice as likely to survive. Hopefully you get what I mean! An African American infant is twice as likely to die as a white infant.
