This week marks my 7th year at Shopify! Over 98% of the company joined after me đŸ˜”
I’m so glad I got to witness (and play an active role in) so many pivotal moments. In a world where most people change jobs every 2 years, having a lot of historical context feels like a huge superpower.
Interview ended, they told me they would get back in touch. A few days later, the recruiter asked me if I could come to Ottawa for an in-person interview. They would pay for a train ticket and everything. I was both extremely scared and excited.
I remember when I first got a DM from @edwardog all these years ago. I couldn’t believe it. Someone from Shopify
likes *my* work?! (Shopify wasn’t nearly the size it is right now, but it was a company I knew and admired).
So they asked me if I wanted to do an interview. The Montreal office wasn’t even opened back then, so I had to do it on Skype. I still lived at my parents back then and carefully arranged the bookshelf behind me showcasing my favorite design and frontend books.
