Trump's business partner, seen here, is pursuing a natural gas deal to dramatically boost the U.S.-Turkish energy trade for more than a decade.

A US company behind it expects "strong support" from Trump, Erdogan, & @EximBankUS.

The natural gas deal became public in two letters sent to Mehmet Ali Yalcindag, the Turkish business partner on Trump Towers Istanbul.

The CEO of Louisiana energy company that sprang up two years ago sent him two letters anticipating Trump and Erdogan's backing.
Last month, Yalçındağ lobbied Energy Secretary Dan Brouillette on increasing natural gas trade.

The letters made public this week indicate that plan appears to be taking shape with U.S. and Turkish government backing.
Louisiana Natural Gas Export, the Delaware-registered company pushing the deal, expects help from the Export-Import Bank (EXIM), comparing their request to a similar LNG initiative EXIM supported with a $5B direct loan in Mozambique last year.

The contours of the deal are not described in the public letters.

"There are no applications for financing pending before EXIM from this company," a source at the bank told me.
