All Feed Milling company are Profit making Company , they are in business to make money. If they don't increase price, they are doomed. Thus, the reason of increment in price of feed.

Maize is N145-160 as at today June 19 2020 depending on your source. So, is Micro nutrients,  SBM, Wheat offal, etc. Going for the cheapest feed is also not an option because if you buy a cheaper feed, you get lower result, and this will turn affect your income on sales.

The Cheaper feed as at today is 2990. can we do a small Maths here? 

If you have 1000 birds producing at 70%Production. You'll produce 23 crates daily. 

if you buy feed at N3000 (without Logistics) and 1000 birds consume 5 bags daily.

That's a whooping N15000 daily in terms of Feeding, & then you decide to sell your 23 crates at 850. You make 19500 daily, that's an extra of 4500 daily if you remove cost of feed

So, adding up to a monthly fee makes it 4500 *30 days.Thats a meagre amount of N135,000 per month

When you decide to remove salary, drugs, security, utility, at a minimum  proximate N50,000 Monthly,  you are left with 85,000, I'm not even talking about Capital Expenditure like Cage, building, etc. That will reduce the monthly ROI

For how Long will you keep 85,000 to make the 2 million you invested from buying, brooding and raising the birds to production? (Meanwhile, because of poor management practice, most Farmers stay between 65-68% production)and High mortality rate.

With all these said,Some Farmers still do N800 per crate at this time of Scarcity.That's a loss. You can't break even. 

Farmers. let's be wise.. We have suffered enough. Let's take advantage now. Our eggs should be a minimum of N900 farm gate, if we want to break even.

Why is egg price different? We need to have a re think...

NB: The reason there is egg scarcity is because most farms sold their birds during lockdown to avert losses, thus making demand exceed supply even with the present interstate lock down. 

Why is the price of all farm produce on the rise with exception of eggs?And live broilers?

Even Frozen broilers price is up because there isn't the presence of unscrupulous middle men. We need to wise up all.
