so what happened was: a black family came up to the store (pizza hut) to get an issue resolved with their order for delivery. essentially, they didnât order what they actually wanted and wanted to redo their order. it was a black woman and 2 black men were with her. i was the one helping them for the majority of their time at the store. the woman thought she was overpaying for her order. she requested to speak with the manager. something about this man has rubbed me the wrong way from day 1. but anyway he goes and is speaking with the lady-
while i proceed to help other customers. when heâs done and comes back in i asked what she said, and he said ânothingâ and began to rant about the lady/her family. he said things like they were trying to âpimp upâ and called them dumb. THATS when he proceeded to say-
âsee this is why cops kill yâall, cause you donât know how to actâ and GIGGLED!! like looked me in my face and giggled. i stood in silence for a few seconds, just shocked. then i calmly told him âthat was SO inappropriate.â he ignored me and went back to work. after i got off i-
immediately texted the manager above him what happened, who was disgusted and immediately got in contact with the area manager.

update: i spoke w the district manager today, who tried to tell me âwell he apologized so i wonât be terminating him over that.â i proceeded to tell him that he did not apologize, and was trying to justify his statement. i told him anyone who talks to/about and disrespects 1/
people in that way should not be in a management position or be working in a store with people of color. again, he said he wonât be terminating him for that, and instead offered to âtalk to him and counsel him.â i said âthatâs fine, iâll be in contact with someone else.â 2/
mans said âwho are you gonna talk to?? iâM tH3 dIsTriCt mAnaGeRâ i said â..ok... thatâs not the highest position in a company.â i have never heard someoneâs attitude disappear so quickly. stuttering and all. he said âoh- ok iâll have someone contact you.â we got off the phone,3/
he asked for screenshots of Donaldâs âapology,â and then called me back 10 mins later apologizing and told me in a soft voice that Donald was terminated. he tried it!! donât forget who you are sir cause ima remind you real quick, you are NOT the CEO.
i do want to add that EVERYONE above that district manager handled the situation exactly as he should have! so hesitation, no contemplation, just fire him. the area manager paid me a visit and deeply apologized, gave me his contact info, and had a long and genuince conversation-
with me about how disgusted the actions of both employees were. i believe he was genuine and appreciated him taking action!!
