Regardless of your politics, the triangle is absolutely a symbol used constantly in Marxist/Antifa initiatives.

That fist looks familiar. The old methods also used to include incorporating Nazi symbolism into their gear. Hmm.
This was published in 1998.

"Most young activists were dedicated & willing to accept strict party discipline. In order to build up the party apparatus & make it function, they were willing to dedicate their entire lives to the party. Of course, this meant great intrusions into their private sphere as well.
This made it possible to build up effective organizational structures, with newspapers, publishing houses, headquarters, and full-time party workers. But the hard discipline of communist organizations had a difficult flip side to it as well.
Activists in the 70s saw revolution as a real possibility, which could be achieved in a few years & personally experienced. This vision was cemented w/ party doctrine, based on Marxism-Leninism. This created a political identity not allowing critique or recognition of mistakes.
People who deviated from party line or refused commands were excluded. The goal of communist party orgs was to move beyond student sphere & seek revolutionary potential of working class. Activists quit their studies & gave up academics to organize workers. These attempts failed.
