So apparently Last of Us II features a trans character being deadnamed and abused and none of the reviews were able to mention it because the embargo forbade talking about anything plot or character related. Consider yourself warned.
The sheer cynicism on display in this game’s marketing has been really skin-crawling for me. Promising the audience gruesome misery like a TV pitchman, acting as though discussing the basic plot of the game is a privilege reserved for paying customers, and now this.
Naughty Dog used the hype around this game to put reviewers in a position where basic content warnings or mentioning the existence of an LGBT character would be a breach of contract.
