1-An incredible revelation by Iran’s Mahan Air pilot Amir Assadollahi , who claims in early 2013 he flew a plane to Syria that carried 200 passengers , including Quds force commander Soleimani , and 7 tonnes of “prohibited cargo”.

2-Assadollahi said en route to Syria when crossing Iraq’s airspace , Iraqi authorities almost forced him to land the plane in Baghdad airport (where Soleimani was killed in January 2020 by US drone attacks)
3-The pilot said: “American soldiers checked the passengers but could not find Soleimani as he had changed into a flight crew uniform and sat in the cockpit.
4-After the Americans left the plane, the Iraqi forces wanted to check the cargo, Assadollahi said according to Iran’s Young Journalists Club, (YJC)
5- But the cargo compartment of the plane was never checked because “ I opened my wallet and gave the Iraqi soldier every dollar that I had in my wallet.... then, We were cleared to continue our journey to Damascus.“
Note: The United States first imposed sanctions on Mahan Air in 2011, saying it provided financial and other support to Iran’s elite Revolutionary Guards.
The U.S Sanctions were gradually expanded as Washington said Mahan Air helped Iran with “facilitating its support to terrorism across the Region. Mahan’s regular flights to Syria are used to deliver weapons, foreign fighters, and Iranian operatives.”
