Was there a problem that needed solving - Part 2

Injuries – Grey2K claims that greyhounds suffer serious injuries while racing. However,
• It is safer for a racing greyhound to run on a race track than it is in the backyard of an adoptive home. Backyard hazards such as tree branches, stones, bricks, rose thorns, etc. can cause many injuries.
• There is no injury sustained by a racing greyhound which does not occur day in and day out among dogs in the general canine population thousands of times over.
• Injuries listed in injury reports include general lameness, soreness, sprains, nicks and cuts, and other injuries remedied by a brief rest. These are injuries that could occur to any dog, anywhere, at any given time.
• Any athletic sport, whether performed by humans or animals, is accompanied by an element of risk, just look at football. And a veterinarian must be present at every track when dogs are racing and oversees the greyhound care before and after each race.
• When they talk injury rate, they choose timeframes that give them the highest possible number.
Every statistical analysis reveals that the injury rate for ALL injuries -- minor to major -- is between 1% and 2% of all racing starts, and it's less than 1% of all racing starts for more serious injuries.
A study reported in the Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association looked at injuries of pet dogs doing agility. The study found that 31.8% of those agility dogs experienced agility-related injuries. This will be covered in detail in a later post.
