Plenty of Arsenal news doing the rounds today (17th June) so I've done a quick thread to keep you guys up to date just in case you missed any Arsenal news today.

If you're an Arsenal fan, please give this a read as it'll inform you on all the latest Arsenal news.
David Luiz: “It was not the team’s fault, it was my fault. I think the team did well, especially after with 10 men. The coach is amazing, all the players did amazing, it was just my fault. I don’t want to use that [contract expiring] as an alibi or excuse.” ( @SkySports)
Luiz: “I love to be here, that’s why I continue to train hard, that’s why I came here today, that’s why I said to the players ‘nobody needs to speak, it’s me, I have to show my face.’ I want to stay, the coach knows, the coach wants me to stay so we are waiting for the decision.”
Mikel Arteta: “Everything went wrong from the first minute when Granit [Xhaka] got injured & we had to change the plan a little bit, but every possible accident that could’ve happened, hopefully happened today & not in the rest of the 10 games we have ahead of us.” ( @SkySports)
Arteta on Luiz: “He has spoke in the dressing room. David is someone that’s very honest & straightforward. My opinion on David hasn’t changed. The moment I joined, what he’s done for the team, what he’s done for me, he won’t change because he had a difficult performance tonight.”
Mikel Arteta on David Luiz: “I don’t know what will happen with his contract. I know what happened today. There was a reason why I didn’t select him from the start. He had to play because Pablo [Mari] got injured. He tried but it didn’t work out for the team.”
Mikel Arteta on injuries to Granit Xhaka and Pablo Mari: “They are getting assessed at the moment. We will know something more in the morning.”
Mikel Arteta on Mesut Özil’s absence: “It was tactical reasons.”
Jamie Carragher on David Luiz (1/2): “He provides us with entertainment! He’s going to be banned now for three games. I don’t see how Mikel Arteta, after a performance like that, can put him back in [the team] in any circumstances really.” ( @SkySports)
Jamie Carragher on David Luiz (2/2): “There is an option of Arsenal giving him a contract but there’s no way David Luiz is getting a contract, I said that before the game really, so I think that’s possibly the last time we’ll see David Luiz in the Premier League.”
David Ornstein on Thomas Partey: "Arsenal have a long-standing interest & multiple conversations have taken place between them & his camp over the last couple of years."
David Ornstein on Aubameyang: “There’s no contract on the table & I don’t think length of deal has been discussed yet. Given Auba turns 31 tomorrow & already has a year left on his existing deal, I don’t imagine an offer (if it arrives) will be massive in duration but let’s see.”
David Ornstein on Aubameyang: “I believe he would be happy to stay & he’s settled in London. But he’ll want to see his sporting ambitions matched (in vision) & so too his financial requests. That is not going to be easy for Arsenal but Mikel Arteta sounds like he’s hopeful.”
David Ornstein on Granit Xhaka: "Xhaka is under contract until 2023 & part of the leadership group & seems to have recovered well from the incident [with fans]. Arsenal would listen to offers for him - like many others - but I dont see a huge likelihood of him leaving"
According to @David_Ornstein, Arsenal nearly had an contract agreement with Bukayo Saka before the shutdown. It's close but until pen hits paper you never know. The will of all sides is to extend. But the deal has to be right.
When discussing prospective summer transfer plans with representatives, Arsenal have made it clear that Lacazette is more likely to be sold than Aubameyang. ( @TelegraphSport)
Jonathan David, the 20-year-old Gent striker, has been noticed by Arsenal but will only be interested in joining the club if there is a place for him in the team. If Lacazette & Aubameyang both stay, any move for another forward is much more complicated. ( @TelegraphSport)
Arsenal are offering Justin Kluivert a 4-year-contract worth €3.5m per season, which is more than double what he earns in Rome. ( @CmdotCom_En)
Edu: "Mikel Arteta has to be involved in recruitment. We talk about what we need, the characteristics of the players, the system we’re going to play & then I start the process internally. That’s my role. If he has names, if he advises or wants advice on players, that’s fine"
Edu: "If he wants to talk to the other guys [like scouts] of course he will, but normally that's my process. That's why the relationship between us needs to be strong. I have to understand his points & he has to understand the club’s points. Then we build everything together"
According to @TheAthleticUK, the club’s code of conduct has seen a playful new addition Arteta brought with him from City: The Wheel of Fortune. If a player commits a minor indiscretion, such as being late for a team meeting, they must spin the wheel.
On the wheel are a series of forfeits, ranging from a modest fine to cleaning the dressing room, or having to polish the captain’s car. There is one option on the wheel — the one every player hopes for — that permits a 'lucky escape'. ( @TheAthleticUK)
Josh Kroenke & Arteta are in WhatsApp contact, have an occasional FaceTime call & he told Arteta he hoped that the trying times of the past few months would bring them closer together. Kroenke also hosted a virtual group meeting with the players during the break. ( @TheAthleticUK)
In a squad meeting last week, Arteta looked his players in the eyes & told them the club needed a change in attitude, explaining to them it’s no longer acceptable to say that on their day, they can beat anyone - it should be their day every day. ( @TheAthleticUK)
