Thinking about abuse & harassment in comics circles, including indie...

I'm not sure people realize how much discussion around edge cases and boundary cases (any behavior that's not criminal, basically) gets absolutely stamped out from public-facing discussions

This makes it very hard to discuss anything at all, ever, without it becoming some sort of viral callout situation (which can be traumatic in itself...it's a terrible form of attention)

These "callouts" (which are often just comments or warnings) are often deleted for different reasons. Sometimes they're deleted because there are misguided people, with varying degrees of self-awareness and complicity and power, putting out these little fires behind the scenes
