A bit of TMI, so if women's reproductive health is icky for you please scroll on.
On June 1st, I was part of the protest where we were tear gassed. I definitely didn't get in the thick of it, but it was enough to trigger a period 3 days later. What makes me sure it was the cause?

Well, I haven't had a period in over a year. I've been skipping placebo pills on my packs & haven't had any spotting or periods. (This was recommended & monitored by my obgyn, for all you armchair docs). I remember the confusion & constantly checking to see if i missed any days
I started thinking maybe I was SUPER stressed out, but I didn't feel like I have been. This was all super concerning. Then I saw a thread about how tear gas can be an aborcient & can fuck up the reproductive system. Then it clicked. I emailed a researcher about it & heard back
It looks like a research division at Planned Parenthood is now investigating this since they had an overwhelming number of people reporting similar experiences when exposed to teargas. I've signed up for their research list and hoping I can help. I'm fine, my body is fine
It took 2 weeks but it is finally back on track. I'm asking to NOT receive I'm sorrys or sympathy, I don't need it. But please, help us demilitarize and defund police. And help Planned Parenthood in conducting these important researches by donating to them!
And if you have a similar experience to this, please consider signing up for the research list.

Also, apologies on the "women's" repro health. Trimmed it down for brevity and it was insensitive. This is a reproductive health issue for anyone who menstruates
