I've been doing paintings with Clementine since she was 3 (now 6) and we are proud of the little collection we have amassed together.
I wanted to show them off a bit since we just finished our latest collaborative masterpiece this weekend.

This was the first one we did back in 2017 when she was 3. We started off with abstract expressionist styles, because frankly it's easy to let a 3 year old splatter paint and still have it look cool.
Here's a rewind of when she was working on it. So small, but with more teeth than she has now surprisingly.
Next was one with a little more structure. I decided to loosely paint the purple rectangles and let her trace whatever colors she wanted inside of them.
This was two canvases we did at once. I painted the base colors underneath and had Clem scrape and splatter paint between them using things that weren't paintbrushes. We thought it would wield fun results.
Another video of the painting as it happened, when she was way smaller.
After that it was back to more abstract expressionism, again because it's easy with a little kid. We made this one during a fun kids paint day with friends.
For this we were trying to do more with structure and make deliberate color combination choices, because you can only mime Jackson Pollack so many times. We played with blues on a bunch of smaller paintings before we decided to just rip off Rothko.
OK I lied, you can always go back to Pollack. This was the start of underlying tape usage as you can see as the base. It's a combo with tape, splatter, and early paint marker usage. A hybrid of mediums.
Added archival footage of her working on it in her smock in 2019.

This one we did for her room, tried to show her how to play with taping off pieces of the canvas to get different effects. Started going in more illustrative directions with her style and planning.
We had been playing with lines and graphical effects in the previous painting so we decided to explore that some more and this was what we came up with. Cats and bunnies are the inspiration.
Playing with line weight led to what has become our latest stylistic direction, and personally some of my favorite. She's been doing free hand scribbles with a paint mop and then we fill the holes with color. I think this format has more legs, I assume we will do many more.
This is probably my favorite of all that we've done together. We've ordered more paint mops to play with the style but I'm excited to do more Clem Scribble Style paintings through the summer, even though we are running out of walls in our house to hang them on.
This was the most recent and entirely done by Clem. All the other pictures I had some influence because it was a daddy-daughter collab. But this she laid everything out alone, pre-drew it all on paper first, and then executed her vision to explore patterns. I'm incredibly proud.
Here's an example of just some of the art as it's displayed in our stairwell. The rest is all over the house.
That's everything!
If anyone has kids and wants to do similar art projects with them and has questions I'm happy to lend advice. I think we have refined a good process in our house on creating big paintings together and I'm happy to say it's sparked a true love of art in Clem.
