In Honor of Juneteenth coming up here’s a thread of Black content to stream.... let’s uplift our Black Creatives during this time. I’m at the point where I only want to stream Black.... black cast, black written, black produced, black directed, etc
TV Shows first:
1. Last weeks Insecure season Finale sparked “The Game” conversation... I lived for Melanie and Derwin’s relationship drama. You can find it on Hulu and CBS if you have a cable subscription. After season 3,BET buys the show and makes a few changes....it’s decent
2.”Awkward Black Girl”, web series created by Issa Rae and she also acts in it herself with a poc cast. It’s hilarious and all 26 episodes are free on You Tube. If you like Insecure you’ll love Awkward Black girl.
3.”Blood & Water”- Netflix original, y’all when I tell you this is my show! The plot is fresh and the cast is South African! The plot is about high school students but the drama is some real shit and the cast is attractive asl. BINGEWORTHY
4. “Queen Sono”-Netflix and another South African crime drama. The main character,Queen, is a bad ass like secret agent she tackles international operations and her crazy personal life. Trust me it’s not as corny as this photo suggests.
5. “Black Lightening”- Netlfix and The CW.... not going to lie I thought the acting/writing was a little 🌽 but I love seeing this beautiful black family portrayed in this show. They tackle some real life issues in their episodes. 3 seasons all on netlfix

9. “The Chi”- Showtime/Amazon Prime video, Created by Lena Waithe

17. “The Carmichael Show” - NBC, Hulu,
This show was cancelled🙄 some day for having a controversy epsiode in season 3.... i liked this show. It was a cute black sitcom multi cam. All 3 seasons are on Hulu
18. “Everybody Hates Chris”- Hulu, CBS
i doubt no one doesn’t know this show but i just want everyone to know all 4 seasons are on HULU and that this was probably one of the funniest black sitcoms we’ve had. If you disagree go back and watch bc it’s def funnier as I got older
19. “Smart Guy”-Disney + and i even found a few episodes online
: https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x72mpyg
The cast was great, the plots and themes where relevant esp the sexual assault and child predator episode. Great messages all with positive black representation
20. “Luther”- Hulu,Amazon Prime, Starz and HBO Max or whatever that is .
If you’d wanna see Idris Elba fine ass talk for an hour in his natural british accent and do detective work then watch this. He’s a badass murder detective who has violent tendencies.
21. “Homecoming” season 2- Amazon Prime Original
This anthology features Janelle Monae in season 2 as Jackie. This TV mystery starts with Janelle’s character laid in a boat floating in the middle of no where with no recollection of how she got there.....

26. “The NO.1 Ladies Detective Agency” - HBO Max
This was my mf show. Jill Scott played tf outta his character. I was sick when this show got cancelled. a few years back. It’s an oldie but goodie. She plays a private Detective in Botswana. there’s so much ☕️☕️☕️
