I mean, i had a breakdown one time in the drive thru of a Slim Chikin’s.

I started sobbing because I was tired and I was falling apart and I needed a therapist and I didn’t have one.
When I did get a therapist, we talked about it and you know what? She did not say my response was proportional to the event. She didn’t say my response was reasonable.
She told me I to acknowledge my reaction and write out my thought processes and explain to myself why my response was unreasonable and disproportionate.
That cop, with her badge and her gun and her qualified immunity, made a breakfast sandwich order into a personal attack.

That’s...what anxiety does. But it’s not reasonable, and it’s not healthy.
Remember the social worker who had his hands up and the cop shot him anyway? He said, “why did you shoot me?” and the cop said “I don’t know!”

That’s what we’re seeing here. Uncontrolled anxiety that leads to poor snap decisions.
And cops have guns. When pressed, they don’t hurt themselves. They hurt other people.
