Black people say "the police treat us badly" and white America goes "oh yeah?? Prove it, and also if you jaywalk you deserve whatever happens to you." But one white cop's McMuffin is late and suddenly it's symptomatic of a national "disrespect" for the police lmao
I will never get over this, the absolute pinnacle of white fragility
Things I have been told today in this cop's defense when I pointed out how silly this was:

1) she could have just come from seeing a 5 year old shot in the face (I think she'd have led with that)

2) I'm being insensitive to people with PTSD and must not care (I have PTSD)
3) Because I'm gay, I should have more sympathy, because I know what it's like to be hated (! During Pride month!!)

4) She was nervous because some officers got their milkshakes poisoned (they 100% did not, that was a police union lie that their own department disproved)
5) They hope I'm someday in an emergency and call 911 and no cops come to help me, which, whew, that's a lot to unpack

6) I'm what's wrong with America
I've now gotten the "you're gay so you should empathize more" thing more than once and you know what, that's absolutely correct, and part of why I empathize so much with people of color who are targeted by the police
