State Superintendent Dr. Carmen Ayala: Community A in southern Illinois is not the same as Community B in suburban Illinois. It still will remain the districts' ability, given their community context, to make the best reopening plan to meet the needs of the community they serve.
Dr. Ayala just said face masks will be required in Illinois schools.

"With regard to face masks or face shields, those are required at all times with students and with staff."
Ayala confirmed that guidelines will be "heading out into the field" as soon as tomorrow.
