Northern Ireland voted Remain & the #nilt2019 results suggest public opinion here reflects this.
When we nudged people to place themselves in one category or another, we see that fewer people described themselves as ‘Leavers’ than those who simply refused to pick a side.

Aaaaaand, we have a new cleavage #Brexit
63% of Remainers & 58% of Leavers would call themselves very strong Remainers/Leavers.
Even those who merely feel closer to one side seem to feel the sentiment strongly (see graph).
What will this mean now NI has left the EU

It isn't accurate to assume #Unionist is shorthand for pro-Leave. Just under ½ are Leave but ¼ are Remain & ¼ won’t pick a side.
In contrast #Nationalists are strongly pro-Remain (83%)
#Neithers are a bit of a mixed bag: 56% Remain, 19% Neither

Another key finding is that the clear majority of NI respondents (60%) -- incl. across the party spectrum-- believe UK should seek a close future relationship with EU.
Just 11% think future
- relationship should be a distant one.
