Democracy is supposed to work via the marketplace of ideas- where ideas compete with one another; maybe one side wins outright, maybe the other. Maybe synthesis is the outcome.

Authoritarian systems only want one story or narrative for a reason.
If you can’t handle merely seeing ideas that you think are dumb or baseless, how do you deal with ideas that might challenge your core principals?
To me this makes you an intellectual Pygmy, a weakling, and a person who themselves holds silly views not to be taken seriously
Even if you don’t believe in democracy- let’s say you’re a tankie or a monarchist or whatever other type of LARP you’re in to- if you don’t have the mental chops to see and deal with ideas you reject then you’re a weakling.
