When the liberal media in the US refer to the efforts to highlight the rights conflict between gender self-ID and the rights of women & LGB people, they do so in two ways. They either link these efforts to the religious right or present them as a weird British aberration./1of9
So we’d like to report a battle in the US, between the Georgia Green Party (GGP) and the national party’s Lavender Caucus. On Feb 22 the GGP decided to endorse the Declaration on Women's Sex-Based Rights. International transactivists reacted with a barrage of online abuse./2of9
The Lavender Caucus demanded that the GGP retract, apologize and submit to re-education, or resign – or face expulsion from the national party. Does this remind anyone of authoritarian regimes? The national party's social media channels hosted abusive attacks on the GGP /3of9
and on many specific individuals, mostly women, including threats of violence & doxxing. The LC never addressed the issues. The GGP state committee rejected a proposed “reconciliation retreat” and suggested a party-wide conversation on the issues raised by the Declaration./4of9
The attacks continue. Greens outside of Georgia set up the pro-democracy effort “Dialogue Not Expulsion” with a sign-on letter for Greens in the whole US. It has more signatures than the parallel petition of the Lavender Caucus, which claims to represent the majority view./5of9
The Lavender Caucus is trying its best to expel the GGP. The conflict is now getting media attention. The Green Nat. Committee has made several attempts to codify gender ideology into the party’s operating rules. Gender-critical Greens have so far managed to prevent this./6of9
The GGP needs your support. To learn more and to sign in support of the GGP, including members of Green Parties around the world, please go to http://www.dialoguenotexpulsion.org/ and sign under the heading “Engage”. All US followers please RT./7of9
Any Greens in Georgia are urged to participate in next week's state
convention. To learn more, go to
