If you agree with J Cole please read this thread:

No Name is a Black woman from Bronzeville. Had beef with her mom and had to live with her grandparents until she started high school at De LaSalle. She is a SELF TAUGHT artist, that came up in YOUMedia much like Chance.
She is brown skin with a Black ass name - Fatimah. Take a moment to understand how difficult her life is. How many strikes she has against her by virtue of her womanhood& Blackness. Now picture her clawing her way to a better socioeconomic standing w/ grassroots fanbase building.
She gets some money and instead of retreating to LA or disconnecting from the people, she stays put. She's creating programs, funding efforts, using her voice ON THIS FREE app to amplify Black voices and Black movements every day. When she said naive things about capitalism...
she was called out. No Name responded by educating HERSELF and has been anti-capitalism ever since. She speaks to power the need for social and economic reform. No one is free until we're all free, and she's been consistent with that message. She noted that the most prominent..
VOICES in hip hop were silent during this time. The "Lils" and "Babys" and all the rap girls have been active raising money, speaking out, and propping up the movement with their platforms. She spoke out, without saying ANY names, about the absence of the biggest voices.
She wasn't wrong. During a revolution in 2020 we need millionaires to weaponize their privilege. If you got millions of followers and millions of dollars, put BOTH to work and don't stop until the job's done. If Jay-Z can open his mouth publicly, no one has an excuse.
In response to a GENERAL critique, J Cole took her grievances personally and proceeded to gaslight her. He called her "privileged" but she's had ZERO privilege her whole life. Not with a two parent home, not with her race, not with her gender, not her skin, nothin! She did the work!
He pushes blame on her and other Black folks who are active on Twitter, framing her stance as "holier." But she's in these trenches organizing book clubs, getting resources to imprisoned Black men, and doing the dirty work of educating people. LITERALLY.
Are there folks out here slewing respectability politics, asking Black folks to wake up with no real idea how they might do that? Yep! But No Name aint that. She implores folks to act and learn and then leads by example and shares all her resources with the masses.
Then Cole doubled down saying he doesn't read and doesn't feel equipped to lead. He admits that he is not and cannot do the work No Name is doing. So why did he use his first song of 2020 to call out a self-made, Black woman, that's doing the work? HE DID THAT FOR WHAT?
If you read through this and have a defense for him, please holla at me. I am desperate to understand why he would do this at this time. I beg...enlighten me.
