So I have neen thinking about the solution to the critic of the left being "two online" because the problem the critque is one it is too vague to be constructive, two it is ableist and three it isn't point at the issue it trying ro resolve
unnecessary sectarianism and petty drama is always an issue on or offline. I think what makes it probably harder to do offline even only a little is that those thing typically break down cohesion and people can see that
So folks see the fall of these action will be reluctant in engaging in these actions
online you don't really feel that same break down even though it still happens. What more the issue is capitalist platforms like these need you constantly on there sites, we know media is more alluring when all you see is negatively. that why it keep showing
if we add to fact that you can benefit (blah, blah, blah social capital) from this self perpetuating cycling it make it easy to see why "being online too much" might seem like the issue
it not being online for some arbitrary amount of time that is the issue. It what that time is being spent doing and the fact that the space on those site are being swayed on a specific direction
things like communication, cyber security, direct material support are all crucial too the struggle just as much as organizing offline.
ignoring these thing for the reductive (go outside) doesn't end the problems that we are facing.
